Thailand Privilege Reserve Membership

Exclusive Privileges by Invite Only

The Thailand Privilege Reserve Membership stands at the top of the Thailand Privilege Visa program. This exclusive, invitation-only tier offers the most extensive benefits and perks available, along with the highest membership fee. Reserve Membership provides an indefinitely renewable Thailand Elite Visa, which can effectively grant foreigners a lifetime stay in Thailand.

Let’s take a look at what Reserve membership entails, how it’s different from the lower tiers, and the application process.

What is the Thailand Privilege Reserve Membership?

The Thailand Privilege program enables citizens of foreign nations (which are not on the UN sanction list) to stay in Thailand for an extended period of time with a renewable, multiple-entry visa. The membership is valid for 5 to 20+ years and comes with a wealth of luxury benefits and rewards that you cannot get through any other visa program

The length of membership validity and the nature of your benefits are dependent on your tier, of which there are four:

Reserve Membership

Reserve is the highest and final tier, and can only be achieved by individuals specifically invited by the Thai government. It costs far more than the other tiers, but you get the benefits to match, including an infinitely renewable Thai Elite Visa.

How Does Reserve Membership Differ from the Other Tiers?

Reserve tier stands head and shoulders above the Gold, Platinum, and Diamond tiers in several important areas.

Price

The Thailand Reserve Elite Visa costs a one-time, nonrefundable 5,000,000 THB fee (approximately $142,000). Family members added at the time of application cost 2,000,000 THB (approximately $57,000) each.

Length of Stay

With the Reserve membership, you are allowed to stay unrestricted in the Kingdom of Thailand for 20 years, but in practical terms, your stay is as long as you want. Once your 20 years of membership is up, you have the option to continue extending your Thai Elite Visa in 5-year intervals. This visa is good for multiple entries, so you don’t need to get a permit every time you leave and return to Thailand. You’ll still have to do the 90-day reporting most other expats have to do, but you can spend points included in your membership to take care of this for you. And should the Thailand Privilege program authorities implement the changes discussed in early 2024, then you would only have to report to immigration once a year.

Transfers and Joint Applications

As mentioned above, like with the Diamond and Platinum tiers you can add family members to your membership for a reduced rate at the time of application. However, the Reserve tier is unique in that you have the option to transfer membership to someone else.

Points Awarded

One of the main ways that the Thailand Privilege visa differs from the discontinued Elite Visa program is the inclusion of a system that awards Thai Privilege Points on an annual basis. You can spend these points on rewards and perks, such as financial services or free luxury hotel stays.

The system is included with each tier of Thailand Privilege, with each tier getting a different allotment of yearly points.

If you are a Reserve member, you get a whopping 120 points per year, dwarfing the amounts provided to the lower tiers. Rewards most often cost only 1, 2, or 3 points. The point cost is the same across all tiers of membership, but some rewards are complimentary or come with extra perks if you are in the Reserve tier. For example, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond members must redeem points (or simply pay the entrance fee) to gain access to certain coworking spaces, but Reserve members receive unlimited complimentary entry.

Remember: Your points DO NOT roll over to the next year’s total if you do not use them. Your point value will reset to 120 with the Reserve membership at the beginning of the calendar year, regardless of points spent the previous year.

What Are the Perks and Benefits of a Thailand Privilege Reserve Elite Visa?

Apart from the differences mentioned in the previous section, the benefits extended to Reserve membership holders are more or less the same as those available to the lower-tier members. Please refer to the chart below for specifics on what each Thailand Privilege membership package includes.

FAQ

How many people are invited to join the Reserve tier?

At present, the Thailand Privilege authority plans for no more than 100 individuals to be invited each year.

If I hold a legacy Thai Elite Visa, can I upgrade to the new Reserve membership?

Yes, provided you are invited. You will have to pay a one-time upgrade fee of 100,000 THB, as well as an annual fee for each person included in the membership, with the amount determined by your previous visa. Your membership will be valid for as many years remain on your original Elite Visa.

How do I get an invitation?

The Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd. will issue invitations as they see fit, usually before an application is even received. Speak to an authorized General Sales and Services Agent to learn about ways to increase your chances of getting invited.

Should I wait for an invitation to Reserve before applying for the Thailand Privilege program?

If Thailand Privilege is what you want, starting at the Diamond tier is the best option even if you are holding out for a Reserve invitation. Your Diamond membership can be upgraded to Reserve should you get an invitation later, so there’s no need to wait to apply.

How Do I Complete a Thailand Privilege Reserve Application?

Before you can apply for Reserve membership, you must first receive an invitation. Only then can you apply for it, and you must still meet all of the eligibility criteria to get approved; an invitation is no guarantee of acceptance. With your invitation in hand, you can then begin the standard application process.
